About Us

Hello! We are a FTC team called Strike Bots #16595 from Southeast Calgary Canada. In 2019 we were created by our parent organization, Alberta Tech Alliance Association (ATAA) to make a total of three ATAA FTC teams at the time. Since then, we've continued to improve and expand both our knowledge and others' knowledge of STEAM through robotics.

In our current season, we have eight members, one youth mentor, and two mentors. Learn more about everyone below:

Emily

This is Emily's fifth year on Strike Bots, and eighth year doing robotics with FIRST. She is 17 years old and is in Grade 12. Her main roles on the team are coach, engineering portfolio, social media, outreach, CAD modeller, and builder. Her hobbies outside of robotics include art, design, programming, and video games.

Sam

This is Sam's second year on Strike Bots. He is 14 years old and is in Grade 10. His main roles on the team are builder and driver. His hobbies outside of robotics include carpentry, swimming, and soccer.

Anderson

This is Anderson's second year on Strike Bots, and fourth year doing robotics with FIRST. He is 15 years old and is in Grade 10. His main roles on the team are builder, coder, and backup driver. His hobbies outside of robotics include lawn bowling and biking.

Edmond

This is Edmond's second year on Strike Bots. He is 14 years old. His main role on the team is a programmer. His hobbies outside of robotics include programming, crafts, game development, and video games.

Kael

This is Kael's second year on Strike Bots. He is 14 years old and is in Grade 9. His main roles on the team are builder and driver. His hobbies outside of robotics include sim racing, building things, and music production.

Logan

This is Logan's third year on Strike Bots, and sixth year doing robotics with FIRST. He is 15 years old and is in Grade 10. His main roles on the team are programmer and driver. His hobbies outside of robotics include game development, digital art, making videos, video games, 3D animation, and making music.

Mrinal

This is Mrinal's first year on Strike Bots, and second year doing robotics with FIRST. He is 13 years old and is in Grade 8. His main role on the team is a programmer. His hobbies outside of robotics include video games, basketball, and debate.

Jeremy

This is Jeremy's first year on Strike Bots. He is 12 years old and is in Grade 7. His main roles are builder and driver. His hobbies outside of robotics include hockey, lacrosse, LEGO, and video games.

Bryson (Youth Mentor)

This is Bryson's first year as a mentor for Strike Bots, however he was a member of the team for three years previously. This is his seventh year doing robotics with FIRST. He is 17 years old and is in Grade 12. His hobbies outside of robotics include sports, drawing, and design.

Caitlin (Mentor)

This is Caitlin's fifth year mentoring Strike Bots, and fifth year doing robotics with FIRST. She works as a mechanical engineer. Her hobbies outside of robotics include crocheting, reading, and hiking.

Chris (Mentor)

This is Chris' fifth year mentoring Strike Bots, and fifth year doing robotics with FIRST. He works as a mechanical engineer. His hobbies outside of robotics include soccer, golf, and car mechanics.
